Northwest Region Closed Championship 2025

Registration

All entries must be submitted online. Registration will open at 9:00 am PST on March 1, 2025. No entries will be accepted after 11:59 pm PDT April 17, 2025.

All entry fees are non-refundable.
There will be no pre-premier competition.

 

Competition Venue

All competitive events will take place at Valley Community Presbyterian Church
8060 SW Brentwood, Portland, Oregon 97225
Enter through doors accessed from the east parking lot.  Sanctuary doors will be locked.

Limited parking is available in the east parking lot behind the church.  Additional free parking is available in the TriMet lot on Laurelwood two short blocks from the church or on the neighborhood streets.

 

General Information

  1. The building will open at 9:00 AM to dancers and spectators.

  2. Dancer Check-in will open at 9:15 am. Dancing will begin promptly at 10:00 am.

  3. The Highland Fling will be danced first from the youngest to oldest age groups followed by the Sword and SeannTriubhas. The Reels may be danced out of age group order if necessary to accommodate fill-ins.

  4. First to enter will be the last to dance in age groups with fewer than 16 dancers entered.

  5. In any age group with 16 or more dancers entered, the order of dance for the Highland Fling, Sword and Seann Triubhas will be determined by a separate draw for each dance.

  6. "First to enter last to dance” will apply only for the Reel.

  7. If a draw is necessary, it will be conducted by the NW Region of ScotDance USA.

  8. Draw positions will be emailed to dancers and teachers no later than Saturday, May 10, 2025.

  9. After May 10, 2025 should a competitor withdraw from an age group the order of dance was determined by a draw, dancers in the affected class will move up one spot in the order of the dance. Teachers of competitors whose order of dance has changed will be emailed a revised order of dance and will be asked to relay the information.

 

Good Luck Ads

Send your dancer, dance teacher or special dance supporter a good luck wish or thank-you that will appear in the program at the 2025 Northwest Regional Closed Championship.

To be printed in the program, all Good Luck Ads and accompanying messages or pictures must be submitted before Sunday, April 27, 2025. Ads placed after this date will not be printed in the program.

ScotDance USA Northwest is a Non-Profit organization. All sponsorships are tax-deductible & will help fund the 2025 Northwest Regional Championship. Your support to promote Scottish Highland Dancing and culture in our region is greatly appreciated!

To be printed in the program, donor and/or sponsor information— including logos and images— must be submitted before Sunday, April 27, 2025. Donations received after this date will not be advertised in the program.

 

Admission

Spectator admission is $10.00. Children 5 and under are free.

We strongly encourage pre purchase of admission tickets. However, admission may be purchased at the door with cash or checks only.  

All-day volunteers receive free admission.

Food & Concessions

Concessions will not be sold at the event, Dancers and spectators will be allowed to bring food and drink into the event.
